Privacy policy

Your photos

Photos you redact with BlurLocally are processed entirely on your device, inside your browser — including the face detection, which runs as WebAssembly served from this site. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, stored or seen by us or anyone else. This is an architectural property of the site — it has no upload endpoint — and you can verify it yourself with your browser's Network tab or by using the tool offline.

What we do collect

Aggregate, cookieless page-view analytics (via Cloudflare Web Analytics), which tell us things like "the license-plate page was viewed N times" — with no cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking and no profile of you. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) additionally processes standard technical request data — IP address, user agent — to serve and secure the site, as any web host does.

What we don't do

Advertising

The site currently shows no ads. If we introduce ads in the future to cover costs, this policy will be updated first, any legally required consent mechanism will be added, and one thing will not change: ads run on the page, not in the tool — your photos stay on your device regardless.

Offline app

If you install BlurLocally as an app (or your browser caches it for offline use), the site's files — including the face-detection model — are stored on your device by your browser. That cache contains the tool itself, never your photos.
